Gate and carriage

Is the Bergamo Shepherd Dog a trotter or a galloper?

The Bergamo Shepherd Dog usually follows the herd trotting; in doing this type of work the dog will tend to keep its muzzle to the ground so as to be able to scent tracks, traces and odors, and his tail will be kept in a relaxed position; if instead he should direct himself towards a fixed yet faraway object, he will do so galopping and holding up his tail, head up high, and neck in a normal position.

The two different postures are also justified by the need to balance, according to the gate, the body's weight.
